BBC Worldwide has confirmed that it is closing the three current Doctor Who exhibitions in Cardiff, Land’s End and Newcastle to make way for a new bigger, better mega-exhibition in a new location in (you guessed it) Cardiff.

The press release reveals: “After very successful runs and hundreds of thousands of delighted visitors, the exhibitions in Newcastle and Land’s End will close on 31 October and 31 December 2010 respectively, whilst the flagship Cardiff attraction will close on 27 March, 2011.  BBC Worldwide is delighted that its  relationship with the home of the show will continue as we develop a new and larger Doctor Who attraction which we plan to open in Cardiff in 2012 at a new site.  We have consulted with the City Council for the past 18 months regarding our plans and we are confident that the new attraction’s features, size and location will draw many more fans to the Welsh capital from across the UK. Further details regarding the new Cardiff attraction will be included in the upcoming announcement.”
